Meet Charlotte Hoberg
Hi there! I’m Charlotte Hoberg, the passionate owner and head trainer at Sit ‘n Stay Training.
From an early age, I’ve been deeply connected to animals, and my journey into dog training began long before I realized it would become my lifelong passion.
Growing up, I started working with animals at a young age, teaching lessons at a local stable where I helped children and ponies build trust and understanding. This early experience ignited my love for animal behavior and training. During college, I expanded my experience by working in various pet-related environments, but it was when I rescued my first dog, Pax, that my commitment to dog training truly took shape.
Pax came to me with significant fear related aggression issues, and through dedication, patience, and a lot of learning, I transformed him from a troubled dog into a titleholder in AKC Obedience and Rally events. He also earned all three Canine Good Citizen (CGC) titles, proving that with the right approach and plenty of patience and understanding, many dogs can overcome their challenges and shine.
My journey didn’t stop there. I discovered the sport of Schutzhund, which further deepened my love for dog training. Enter Beowulf (or Beo, as I call him), a reactive German Shepherd with severe behavioral issues. Together, we worked through these challenges, and Beo went on to earn multiple IGP3 titles—the highest level in Schutzhund—at both Regional and National competitions. This experience not only taught me advanced techniques but also gave me a deep empathy for dogs and their owners who face similar struggles.
Today, I continue pursuing Schutzhund with my two younger German Shepherds, Ghibli and Alchemy, both of whom have earned their BH titles. For those unfamiliar, the BH title is a temperament and obedience test, proving that a dog can remain calm, focused, and well-mannered in everyday situations.
Although German Shepherds hold a special place in my heart, my passion extends to dogs of all breeds and backgrounds. Whether it’s helping a fearful rescue or an excitable puppy, my goal is always to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners through reinforcement-based practices, patience, and a lot of fun, too. At Sit ‘n Stay Training, I’m committed to making training an enjoyable and rewarding process for both you and your best friend.
When I’m not training, I love creating artwork, spending time with my dogs, staying updated on the latest in animal behavior, and sharing training tips and stories on Instagram.
I can’t wait to help you and your dog embark on this exciting journey together!
