Board and Train
At Sit ‘n Stay, we believe dogs are members of the family. When your pup comes to stay with us, they will be treated like one of our own. We only take on a few training dogs at a time so that they get personalized care and attention while they are here. They will live in the home and go on field trips and playdates throughout the day.
A nonrefundable deposit of 25% is required at time of booking.
Remaining balance will be due on the day service is to begin.
Changes or cancellations must be made prior to 24 hours of scheduled booking.

Field Trips
Taking your dog’s newfound skills on the road, we will challenge them with new situations and distractions to work around. Your pup will learn to be confident in new places and generalize their knowledge to the outside world.

Basic Manners
Your pup will learn when it is appropriate to rough house and when they are expected to relax and wind down. Dogs will go through Karen Overall’s Relaxation Protocol in and around the house to learn when and how to settle. The dog’s will learn polite behaviors, crate manners, and how to “say please” for what they want.
From Cranky to Kind
Behavior Modification
If your dog has undesirable and possibly dangerous behavior, this is where Behavior Modification comes into play. Such behaviors may include lunging and barking on the leash, barking out the window, guarding coveted items, etc.

Life Skills
Dogs will learn skills to improve their daily life they can learn how to be a better companion to you. Your dog will learn to walk nicely with a loose leash when out on the town, and come when called when out and about. Dogs will learn how to behave appropriately around strangers and friends, such as no jumping or barking when greeting.

Foundation for Competition
Do you think you and your pup have what it takes to compete? Foundation skills such as cooperative toy play, specific marker words, as well as shaping and luring will be taught to your dog. They will also learn proper body awareness and build confidence in new locations.
Give Your Puppy the Right Start
Puppy Socialization
The socialization window for puppies closes at around 12 weeks. Most behavioral issues stem from poor or lack of socialization. When puppies are young and impressionable, it is so important for them to build positive associations with the things in their world.
Fitness and Fun
Swim Lessons
Young and old, big and small, swimming is a great and low impact exercise for dogs of all kinds. Thanks to our friends at The K9 Aquatic Center in Potomac, Maryland, swimming is a possibility all year long! For an additional fee, your pup can enjoy a 30 minute swim lesson. The Swim center supplies properly fitted life jackets and floating toys, all you have to supply is your dog!
Adventure
Hiking
If weather permits, we will take your dog on hikes throughout the week. Dogs will be kept on long leashes to be allowed the freedom to explore and practice their recalls. Water will be offered throughout the hike and dogs will be given breaks when needed.
